Joaquim Armando Pacula has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the murder of Johannesburg DJ Warrick Stock, also known as DJ Warras. Pacula pleaded guilty to the December 2025 shooting and admitted killing Stock in exchange for R25,000.
Joaquim Armando Pacula, a 25-year-old Mozambican national, was sentenced to 25 years' imprisonment for the murder of Warrick Stock, also known as DJ Warras, following a shooting in Johannesburg CBD on 16 December 2025.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) announced on Friday that they reached a plea and sentencing agreement with Pacula, after consultation with Stock's family.
NPA spokesperson Magaboke Mohlatlole said Pacula was sentenced in the Gauteng Division of the High Court in Johannesburg after pleading guilty to charges of murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and contravening the Immigration Act.
"The court sentenced him to 25 years' imprisonment for murder, eight years' imprisonment for the unlawful possession of a firearm, six months' imprisonment for the unlawful possession of ammunition, and 12 months' imprisonment for contravening the Immigration Act," Mohlatole said.
In line with the plea agreement, Pacula admitted that he shot and killed Stock in exchange for R25 000. "The prosecution successfully secured Pacula's conviction through the plea proceedings, while investigations and the prosecution of the remaining accused continue."
The case against co-accused Victor Majola remains before the court and has been postponed to 17 August 2026 for the conclusion of the pre-trial conference.
