Eskom says some areas in KZN remain without power as technical teams work to repair weather-related faults.
Around 40 000 KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) residents have had their power restored following outages caused by heavy rain and snow.
Eskom says technical teams have been working around the clock to repair weather-related faults across the province.
The utility says power has been restored to customers in Kokstad, Franklin, Nottingham Road, Underberg, Pietermaritzburg, Margate, Estcourt and Empangeni.
Residents warned to stay away from fallen power lines
The power utility adds that work is continuing to reconnect those still without electricity.
It says some areas remain inaccessible due to road closures caused by adverse weather.
Eskom says technicians are on standby and will attend to faults as soon as they can safely reach affected areas.
It warns that further outages are possible as the bad weather is expected to continue and says restoration could take longer than usual.
Residents are urged to treat all electrical installations as live and stay away from fallen cables and damaged infrastructure.
