JOHANNESBURG - Suspended EMPD Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi and four other people are expected to appear in court on Thursday in connection with the murder of Emmanuel Mbense.
The five were arrested on Wednesday by IPID.
Mbense was killed at his Brakpan home in April 2022 and his body later dumped in a dam.

According to Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) spokesperson Lizzy Suping, the suspects face charges of murder and defeating the ends of justice.
Suping said the five are alleged to have played a role in the murder, the dumping of his body at Spaarwater Dam in Duduza, in Nigel and failing to report a crime.
